On Friday, Sony’s blockchain project Soneiumannouncedthe launch of its first music NFT collection, developed in collaboration with Coop Records. The collection features unreleased tracks by Japan-based music producer NUU$HI.

The NFT music collection, now live on Soneium’s marketplace Sonova, offers a 22-minute-long track valued at just 0.000777 Ether (worth around $2.12).

Coop Records is a community-driven onchain label responsible for bringing over 600 songs to blockchain. It has brought over 125 artists onchain in the last year including major acts like Zeds Dead, San Holo, and Barry Can’t Swim.

Coop Records believes that this launch addresses the persistent issue of unfair profit distribution between record labels, streaming services, and artists. The label’s founder Cooper Turleystatedon X:

“Crypto is finally entering the era where apps are the main focus, and with tokens at the center — creators and power users will be the biggest winners.”

The crypto community welcomed this idea on X, calling 2025 an “app season”.

As per the announcement, this vision of equitable revenue sharing closely aligns with Soneium’s core mission. The blockchain network aims to offer recognition and fair compensation to creators for their contributions.

Sony’s Venture into the NFT World

Since its mainnet launch in January 2025, Soneium, built on Ethereum Layer 2, has seen rapid growth with over 248,000 accounts. The platform hasseen1.8 million addresses participating in its blockchain activities in the past four weeks.

While Sony Music Group, which oversees legendary labels such as Columbia Records and RCA Records, has yet to integrate fully with Soneium, the blockchain platform’s roadmap already hints at other developments. These include intellectual property protection for creator-generated content and enhanced revenue-sharing models between artists and fans.

Last month, Sony Block Solutions Labs announced a Fan marketing platform that simplifies NFT issuance for brands, creators, and enterprises by providing integrated tools for fan engagement and data analysis.

The company’s crypto asset platform S.BLOX is also preparing an NFT distribution campaign this month.

The latest partnership between Soneium and Coop Records demonstrates the potential of blockchain in redefining music ownership. Soneium’s director Sota Watanabestatedthat Soneium is now focusing its focus on music and entertainment. As per theannouncement, this is the first in a wider collection of drops on Sonova over the coming months.

The River Plate Machine
Digital illustration for the cover of These Football Times magazine in its issue dedicated to the Argentine football team "Club Atlético River Plate". Original from 2020. For this cover I have created a complex machine that links all the generations and legends of the club with its great shield and emblem crowning the center as the heart of the fantasy machinery. Full of details and ornaments this is a highly detailed work. An authentic trip to the history of River through the imagination and the colors of the club. The most significant titles of the club are also included, such as the Libertadores Cup, the famous Intercontinental and the new Super Liga and the Argentine Cup in its newest cup design.
