19/02/2025 Trump Company Plans to Airdrop Solana Meme Coin to Eligible NFT, Merch Buyers

To celebrate President’s Day, the team behind Trump's Solana meme coin is rewarding NFT and merch buyers with an airdrop.

Buyers of merchandise or collectibles from one of four officially licensed Trump online shops may be eligible for an airdrop of the president’s official Solana meme coin,TRUMP. And that includes initial sales of Trump’s official NFT collections.

The airdrop is part of a President’s Day promotion to reward buyers of the merchandise and further grow the community behind the TRUMP meme coin.

“TRUMP is creating the biggest and strongest crypto community the world has ever experienced,” the projectposted on X(formerly Twitter). “Today, we are growing the TRUMP community, and we want you to be part of it!”

Any user who purchased items from Trump’s official sneakers, watches, fragrances, or digital trading card sites before February 15 is eligible to claim 3 TRUMP tokens, around $48 worth at the current price. Items range in price from $99 for Trump NFTs to $199 for fragrances, all the way up to $100,000 for a limited edition18-karat gold watch.

The claim requires users to share the email address that was utilized for their Trump merchandise order. Eligible parties will have until March 1 to claim their TRUMP tokens atclaim.gettrumpmemes.com. Users who purchased Trump NFTs from secondary marketplaces are not eligible for the drop.

A representative for the president’s meme coin did not immediately respond toDecrypt’srequest for details on where the promotion altokens came from, and how many are being offered in total.

TRUMP, the official Solana meme coin, waslaunched on January 17and quickly ballooned to a market cap of nearly $14.7 billion. It has since retraced nearly 78% from its all time high, trading at $16.30 at the time of writing, despiteoccasional promotionsby the president.

The president has a history of selling digital trading cards as NFTs, mostrecently releasing 360,000collectible cards onEthereumscaling networkPolygon. Last January, officially licensed Trump digital collectibles were also mintedon Bitcoin as Ordinalsinscriptions.

Trump’s first-evertrading card collectionis up 17% in the last 24 hours and holds a floor price—or starting price on secondary marketplaces—of $187, according to NFT Price Floor.

Genesis
José Delbo sent me his striking pencil sketch and powerful inked work, which I then interpreted in oil on canvas. I wanted to create a very painterly piece with obvious brush marks etc, but I was also aiming for a nostalgic feel, a kind of 1980’s superhero comic book look, the kind I grew up with. My goal with this animation was to try to recreate, in part, the creative process that both artists went through with the visual information I had. I was able to showcase my painting process more accurately as I could take photographs of my progress throughout. Consecutive images could then be layered like brush strokes over José’s drawing to create the impression that this was one continuous artwork from pencil, to ink, to completed painting. The representation of the line sketch at the beginning, then pencil/ink and lastly the paint layers being applied demonstrate both artists’ struggle for the right lines, tone, form, and colour until the work is finally completed. As the oil was still wet with each photograph the glare of my studio lights can be seen in the brush strokes. Eventually, the figure emerges and as it does, our hero comes to life, looking directly at the viewer -- but is he grimacing in approval or disgust? We will never know for sure as just before he can say anything, white paint is brushed across the canvas entirely and the process begins again. Only the bat is quick enough to escape.

Cypher::Prophet is an artwork dedicated to the punk origins of blockchain designed and realized by hackatao and hex6c. In the transposition into images we started from the iconographic canons of the hacker (hoodie, laptop, cryptographic elements) and associated them with the figure of the prophet, thus highlighting the predictive nature of the works of Eric Hughes (Cypherpunk Manifesto, 1988) and Timothy C. May (Crypto Anarchist Manifesto, 1993) as well as of the blockchain inventors Stuart Haber and Scott Stornetta (How to Time-Stamp a Digital Document, The Journal of Cryptography, 1991). Each day, a new composition for the Master is generated autonomously using a data feed of Bitcoin's last 24 hours of price action. Each hour's price programmatically controls rotation, scale, and position of a correlating layer. Astute viewers will surmise the day's price volatility simply by examining the artwork. While the daily image generation is the result of autonomous API calls, utilizing an algorithm the artist wrote, the artist has chosen to retain a control token. This token allows him to fine-tune variables associated with his algorithm, in addition to addressing aesthetic concerns within the life-cycle of the artwork. Layer state, alpha, hue, saturation, and brightness are elements the artist has retained control of in order that this artwork remain a living work-in-progress. An earlier iteration of this artwork was featured as a nightly projection mapping video on the face of the Daniels Fisher Clocktower, as part of ETH Denver 2020.
