A bottle of very expensive whisky is being auctioned off with an NFT to authenticate true ownership of it, along with artwork made special for the event.

A bottle of 52-year-old whisky made at Japan’s famous defunct Karuizawa distillery is being auctioned off as anonfungible token (NFT).

The starting price for the NFT and bottle of whisky is a dizzying $75,000, or about 62 Ether (ETH). Direct-to-Customer NFT wine and spirits marketplace BlockBar is handling the auction.

To whisky collectors, the ultra-rare bottle of whisky from “The Last Masterpiece” cask made in 1970 is attractive, as there are now only 211 bottles of it left, accordingto a Tuesdayreport by Finbold. Now, an NFT collector can bolster their collection with a token that verifies authentic ownership of a bottle.

Old Navy gets bored

American clothing brand Old Navy has issued a new $19.95 t-shirt depicting Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) #7285. Is this a good thing for BAYC?

Some have questioned the association, while others are delighted to see their favorite NFT collection gain widespread recognition in mainstream culture. BAYC owner JBond said in a Fridaytweetthat, in general, it helps Bored Apes.

I saw arguments on whether a $19.99@OldNavyshirt with an ape on it hurts or helps bored apes

Thoughts:

1) It helps - a licensing example between a major clothing brand & bored ape
2) It helps drive awareness too
3) It doesn’t necessarily hurt official BAYC shirt value. Why?⬇️

— JBond (@jbondwagon)July 15, 2022

Accordingto BAYC creator Yuga Labs’ terms of service, owners have the right to use the image of their BAYC as they please under most circumstances.

Some of the NFT community claimed it was an unauthorized use of the image. However, Old Navy’s product site indicates that the image on the shirt has been licensed, The owner of this BAYC is clearly an enthusiast, as theyownsix other BAYCs, 11 Mutant Apes and 20 Otherdeeds, along with two Bored Ape Kennel Club NFTs.

Creating more in The Sandbox

You can now publish game assets that you have created in the Metaverse and NFT gaming platform The Sandbox.

A Wednesdayannouncement from the projectoutlineshow voxel creators can now publish their artwork and use it on their plots of metaverse LAND.

The process for publishing appears fairly straightforward as a creator merely needs an account on the platform to create an asset using VoxEdit, and then export it to The Sandbox’s marketplace for publishing.

The catch is that creations will not be publishable or mintable as NFTs initially. However, minting and selling will be enabled soon.

Interesting NFTs
Domestic - 2017
“Domestic is the manifestation of the cultural patriarchy in my home. The wooden "woman's" tragedy of false desire. It was done in a moment of breakup. The hollow 3d body & its lost eyes, invites you to fill up. Trying to reach out, encumbered and wrapped in its own fragility, the new mother rises."
The Scion
A young figure caught in a moment of distraction, aware only ephemerally of his unconscious being, as it engages in psychological and psychedelic layer spaces. His right arm casually cradles a moray eel; the figure is comfortable but not truly aware of the potentials for danger in such negligence. His shirt reads “Bello” in Pokemon style font, harkening back to a childhood straddling the millennial threshold. To his right side, out of the unconscious deep, shrouded alien heads propagate as a fractal totem, each new iteration a more sophisticated rendering of emotional masking over the cold mystery of the greys. As the scion of the Budgie-Sattva, the young man, in his distraction, is also simultaneously aware of higher levels of self discovery. To his left a psychological topology sets beneath the oracle side of an 8 ball ,hovering; its message a purest concept of acceptance. The “Scion” lettering is in 80’s HeMan style bold declaration. The lower right side of the painting is like a hybrid of melon, feathers, and seeds. The crystals in the background bring light; conducted, refracted, reflected, and dispersed, to balance the dark shadow of the figure’s physical body. The aura of the scion succeeds in layers to point, with a finger, and the crown chakra, toward a center of a mandala existing as nigh pure application of strokes, in essence painterly abstraction, but also revealing hints of the Aura of migraine, and the bi-hemispherical nature of the brain–noting concerns of the possibility of inherited mental disease. Yet the flourish of chakra as it sets against that center is robust, active, coherent, and reveling against all fear. Fundamentally, the piece speaks to the activation of one’s potential to begin to “Know Thyself”, and find greater awareness out of the enigmas of the mind–as an inculcated seed given to the rich soil of one’s own birthright.
trump 2020
This is a photo i took of my son playing around in one of our cat carriers, redressed to express the concern and damage the continuation of the trump administration could bring to the world in 2020 and beyond. Unlike the majority of my historic work found on opensea, all content was conceived and taken by me, so felt perfect to use as my first piece on Known Origin.
I'm not a toy #4
This artwork is the result of my personal experience as a female artist. The last piece in this series. Throughout my artistic career, I have to constantly confront the stereotypes of society. If you're a pretty girl, then you can't do anything worthwhile. Unfortunately, many people think so and I haven’t noticed this before, until I faced this very gender discrimination. I have heard many times :"- These are not your works. Someone else does them .." People cling to my appearance and try their best to deny my achievements, looking through the clichés hung on us by the stereotypes of the past. So here i am.
The Investor's Dream
The second "Visual Toy" about cryptocurrency and its universe that continues the exclusive collection on this theme. After the first Visual Toy, dedicated to the cryptocurrency itself, this visual toy is the other side of the coin. It represents, as its title tells us, the investor's dream, the current person and his financial hopes. A surreal fantasy of the dreams and longings of every investor, in this case the crypto investor. In this magical, happy and colorful dream, aspirations of all kinds intermingle, both the desire for great benefits, represented in a long animation that shows us a production cycle or series production that ranges from the gastronomic recipe of a two-ingredient cake. Bitcoin slice and Ethereum smoothie, passing through magic, represented in a fairy that transforms the cake into real money, which is sucked into a giant capsule to accumulate it and multiply it. The rest is full of investor aspirations, which appear in their dreams in the form of profits or screens that announce that values are rising steadily, as well as physical possessions, such as the sailboat, the helicopter, homes and other objects or possibilities. A dream full of happiness, fun and hope.
