LimeWire relaunches as an NFT marketplace with Travis Barker, Aitch and others onboard

The once widely popular file-sharing site, LimeWire, is soon to relaunch as a crypto marketplace, with several artists, including Travis Barker andAitch, set to launch new NFTs on the platform. In the weeks to come, the Blink-182 drummer’s collectables will be available alongside those of Brandy, Nicky Jam and others.

“I have always been interested in Web3 and NFTs so I am pretty stoked to release my first NFT collection and to do it on LimeWire,” Barker recently stated. “I hope that my NFT collection will inspire aspiring artists and fans who want to learn about my creative journey and how I make music. LimeWire has created a platform that makes exciting content like this accessible to all of my fans – even ones who are unfamiliar with Web3.”

Barker’s collection, which is comprised of his first-ever NFTs, will include behind-the-scenes content of his in-studio work, which will afford collectors a rare glimpse into his creative endeavours, and also features an exclusive song.

Meanwhile, Manchester rapper Aitch’s collection is closely related to his forthcoming debut albumClose to Home. Each NFT in the collection will represent a track on the album and hint at its musical features.

LimeWire co-CEOs have said, “We see a huge demand in the entertainment space for platforms that recognise and appreciate artists for their talent and put them in the driver’s seat. LimeWire presents a new commercial opportunity for artists of all sizes and genres to engage with their fans, gain more exposure in a unique way and retain more of their earnings.”

The peer-to-peer file sharing platform was ordered to be shut down in 2010 following a court injunction. Now, however, it is set to return as a marketplace for artists and their fans to buy, trade and create digital collectables. LimeWire intends to attract one million users in its first year of relaunch through several sizeable partnerships with artists in the music industry.

T(r)opical
Inspired by and for the 2018 North American Bitcoin conference in Miami, Florida. The palm tree that has a cracked open Bitcoin coconut suggests that by traveling you can enjoy this tropical digital fruit. The peacock nesting in the tree has spread its wings to flaunt other integrated crypto logos as well. The famous Miami skyline at the bottom incorporates the coins, as well as the code that is transforming the banking buildings that made it. The origin of that skyline is in the 80's cocaine craze, so it is all incorporated into the story of foundational transformation, linked to a global movement. The file size is suitable for an 8K TV. Mr. Moe Levin, the founder of the conference is a collector a physical print of the work. 缥缈之美的过去与现在(Vanitas Then and Now)
虚空派的画像。在这个虚拟时代,外在之美到底是否还受到时间的限制?(Vanitas portrait of a woman. Is beauty finite or not in the Virtual age?)
The Moth Catcher
In this psychologically bed-headed portrait, a creature sets in a trance; his eyes devolved and vestigal, his third eye open but hardened and in a form resembling a Sharingan. The imagery therefore expresses an awareness existing in corporeal introspection. The creature’s mind sprouts, on the left side, an emerging face, grinning. To the right side of the head, red tentacles and fingers intertwine–a collaboration of invertebrate and vertebrate consciousness cooperatively handling paint brushes of the sort used to build an oil painting. The neck and throat bristle with random thorns, as from a rose or the upper portions of a beak sprouting from its flesh. The neck itself disassociates into layers of membranous material, terminating upon an abstracted base of convoluted forms composing its body. The nose is virtually non existent, more a sinus reiterative of the shape of the third eye. Set against the exposed teeth peering out of thick, meaty cheeks, a skeleton-like impression results. That impression sets behind a visceral set of lips and tongue, which is the creature’s prime seat of awareness. Sensual, organic, the tongue organ hangs, meaty, and with consciousness of a sea cucumber. It illuminates at the tip, drawing the attraction of a nearby moth–with mystery of purpose.
