NFT: the latest news on Unstoppable Domains, BAYC, Nifty Gateway and more

Every day there is a lot of news about the world of Non-Fungible Tokens (NFT), metaverse, and Web 3 in general. Here is a summary of the latest, related toUnstoppable Domains, Bored Apes Yacht Club (BAYC), the Nifty Gateway marketplace, and more.

Brave collaborates with Unstoppable Domains

Unstoppable Domains, the company behind blockchain-based and therefore uncensorable website domains, has announced a new partnership with privacy browserBrave.

Through this partnership, more than 2 million decentralized domainswill be able to use the browser to create content or search for information on more than 30 thousand websites.

Brendan Eich, CEO and co-founder of Brave, said:

“Together with Unstoppable, we’re giving more people the power to create content and explore the Internet without sacrificing their privacy or their autonomy. We’re excited to expand access to the decentralized Web for our 60 million users and to contribute to a privacy-first Internet where people have ownership of their data”.

Brave and the integration of Unstoppable Domains also protect against the risk of Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) attacks, so also in terms of security as well there would be advantages to using these technologies together.

Sandy Carter, SVP and Channel Chief of Unstoppable Domains, explained:

“Web3 is the future, and with Brave, we’re expanding access to the decentralized Web and giving people more ways to build their identity online. Brave’s Web3-ready browser makes it possible to build websites that are fully owned by people, not rented from big tech companies”.

Unstoppable Domains offers the ability for users to register domains with extensions such as .crypto, .nft, which are visitable as normal websites but are actually hosted on the InterPlanetary File System (IFPS), which is a decentralized, peer-to-peer network that makes the website incensurable and secure.

In addition, Unstoppable domains, being connected to the blockchain, perform the function of being like identity documents on Web3 platforms, allowing people to receive crypto payments with an easy-to-remember, personalized address and even email.

The project grewfrom 120.7 Ethereum (ETH) to 1044.6 ETHand the average price of an ENS rose 167%.

Omni wallet raises $11 million

A few hours ago it was reported that the Omni wallet, a wallet that supports every Web 3 application, has raised as much as $11 million in seed investment with a valuation of as much as $50 million.

The round ended in May and was led by companies such as Spartan Group, GSR Ventures, Eden Block, OP Crypto, Shima Capital, Kosmos Ventures, Daedalus Angels, PrimeBlock Ventures, Figment Capital, Lattice Capital and Chorus One.

Formerly called Steakwallet, Omni makes possible the integration of various projects related to NFTs, crypto and metaverse.

Serafin Lion Engel, co-founder of the project, explained:

“The primary hurdle that stands between users gaining access to the future of the internet, is ease of use. That’s why we built Omni: an incredibly easy-to-use Web 3 application that can do it all without sacrificing even a fraction of self-sovereignty. Especially after seeing the CeFi meltdown, we wanted to give users something that was as easy to use as CeFi, but 100% self-custodial and DeFi. And that’s what we’ve done with Omni”.

Who is Satoshi Nakamoto?
"Who is Satoshi Nakamoto?" is dedicated to the mysterious creation of Bitcoin, and acts as the showcase artwork within Javier ArrĂ©s’ exploratory series "Bitcoin, The Origin". "Who is the creator of Bitcoin?" The artist, ArrĂ©s, explores this question, and the feelings of doubt and mystery that accompany it, through his unique artistic language. An unknown, an enigma. It should be remembered that the name Satoshi Nakamoto is a pseudonym of Bitcoin's author or authors and gives us little insight into its true creator. For this Visual Toy, ArrĂ©s uses the signature claw machine, his famous half-operation, to symbolize our collective ignorance and unconfirmed belief: As soon as it has the stuffed animal within its grasp and appears to have solved the puzzle, the animal escapes again, and again. At present, there are three more public and studied possibilities who are either believed to be the creators of the currency or who directly claim the creation of it. It may be all or none of them, yet these three personalities leave us clues which are an important part of this interesting enigma. For this moment, it will remain unknown... In this artwork, ArrĂ©s elevates the claw machine from the apparatus, to an iconic pop art object serving as an important element to the Bitcoin creation narrative. Action is everywhere, with each movement serving an iconographical or metaphorical purpose related directly to cryptocurrency: Various ups and downs, roller coasters, mining points, robot, coins and more speak to a sense of hope, risk, mystery, randomness and possibility of pay out. Hundreds of manically thought out details make this creation one of the artist’s most complex Visual Toys to date. ------- "Bitcoin, The Origin" is a set of two Visual Toys, titled "Who is Satoshi Nakamoto" and "It’s Alive!" which reflect and explore the mystery and enigmas behind the creation of Bitcoin. ArrĂ©s presents these proposals to us in his signature style, full of iconography, fantasy, maniacal animations and a panoply of details (both subtle and overt) which simultaneously fascinate, hypnotize, and narrate this historical milestone through the singular vision of the artist. Through this series, ArrĂ©s freezes a crucial moment of cryptocurrency history, taking a still photo under his vision and turning it into two unique crypto artworks. ---- More info about Javier ArrĂ©s: https://javierarres.com/about.html
Auto-Erotic Sphinx with Toys
In this image, a giant sphinx spoons itself in erotic play within an aquatic styled environment littered by various denizens. These creatures include symbols and archetypes both current and nostalgic–each inhabiting a rootedness within mass cultural adolescence. Among the roster are Servbots, video game inspired mushrooms, a Pacman-like creature, a distant sea faring rubber duck, creatures sporting the symbols reminiscent of popular anime, and a Pokemon-like rabbit (a novel incarnation of Ganesha indicated by the Shiva trident on its nose). In addition, a few sea creatures partly inspired by sea monsters of western antiquity conglomerate along the mid left side of the composition. The Sphinx itself is an amalgam of aquatic, fetishist, ancient Egyptian, and 80’s style adornments, both living, as in a clown fish, or material, such as a cassette tape. Nautically colored antennae receive somatic signals from the atmosphere, perhaps from the 8 Ball moon or giant ringed planet beyond.

The Moth Catcher
In this psychologically bed-headed portrait, a creature sets in a trance; his eyes devolved and vestigal, his third eye open but hardened and in a form resembling a Sharingan. The imagery therefore expresses an awareness existing in corporeal introspection. The creature’s mind sprouts, on the left side, an emerging face, grinning. To the right side of the head, red tentacles and fingers intertwine–a collaboration of invertebrate and vertebrate consciousness cooperatively handling paint brushes of the sort used to build an oil painting. The neck and throat bristle with random thorns, as from a rose or the upper portions of a beak sprouting from its flesh. The neck itself disassociates into layers of membranous material, terminating upon an abstracted base of convoluted forms composing its body. The nose is virtually non existent, more a sinus reiterative of the shape of the third eye. Set against the exposed teeth peering out of thick, meaty cheeks, a skeleton-like impression results. That impression sets behind a visceral set of lips and tongue, which is the creature’s prime seat of awareness. Sensual, organic, the tongue organ hangs, meaty, and with consciousness of a sea cucumber. It illuminates at the tip, drawing the attraction of a nearby moth–with mystery of purpose.
