The fund has raised about $5 million since sales opened in late September

Fidelity’s new Ethereum Index Fund will offer clients access to ether (ETH), the second-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization.

The fund has raised about $5 million since sales started on Sept. 26, according to a filing with theU.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. The minimum investment is $50,000.

Fidelity launched its crypto-focused institutional custody and trading platform Fidelity Digital Assets in 2018. The firm offers two exchange-traded crypto funds dedicated to the metaverse and digital payments, respectively.

The Fidelity Ethereum Index Fund is only available to accredited investors and will track the performance of the Fidelity Ethereum Index PR benchmark through passive, direct ownership of ether, a source familiar with the fund told CoinDesk. The new Ethereum fund is the second launched by Fidelity Digital Assets’ digital asset management business, following the 2020 launch of theWise Origin Bitcoin Index Fund I.

“As the marketplace for digital assets grows, Fidelity recognizes the need for a diverse set of products and solutions that help customers gain exposure in a manner that aligns with their distinct financial objectives and risk tolerance. We have continued to see client demand for exposure to digital assets beyond bitcoin,” a Fidelity spokesperson told CoinDesk in an email.

Last month, news brokethat Fidelity was considering offering crypto trading to its retail brokerage clients.

The River of Emeralds
Golden conditions at one of my favorite locations in the Rockies. The light, the colors, the textures; what more can you ask for? I just loved the way this river flowed into the sunset and the mountains in the background. It's rare you find a scene as perfect as this one. But when you do, you have to take advantage of it.
The Investor's Dream
The second "Visual Toy" about cryptocurrency and its universe that continues the exclusive collection on this theme. After the first Visual Toy, dedicated to the cryptocurrency itself, this visual toy is the other side of the coin. It represents, as its title tells us, the investor's dream, the current person and his financial hopes. A surreal fantasy of the dreams and longings of every investor, in this case the crypto investor. In this magical, happy and colorful dream, aspirations of all kinds intermingle, both the desire for great benefits, represented in a long animation that shows us a production cycle or series production that ranges from the gastronomic recipe of a two-ingredient cake. Bitcoin slice and Ethereum smoothie, passing through magic, represented in a fairy that transforms the cake into real money, which is sucked into a giant capsule to accumulate it and multiply it. The rest is full of investor aspirations, which appear in their dreams in the form of profits or screens that announce that values are rising steadily, as well as physical possessions, such as the sailboat, the helicopter, homes and other objects or possibilities. A dream full of happiness, fun and hope.
