How do you pick your next NFT? Community responds

Redditors discussed various strategies on how they pick the next NFT collection they will invest in.

Since it may be a good time tobuy nonfungible tokens (NFTs)as the floor prices are lower, a Reddit user asked the community what they look for when searching for the next NFTs to add to their collection.

In a subreddit, the Redditor has gotten various answers from the community includingexaminingthe utilities of the tokens, finding overhyped projects with low minting fees and monitoring data collected by oracles and basing their NFT investing strategy on what they see.

According to one Redditor, utility is what theylookfor when checking NFTs because it goes beyond being a "digital art piece." In addition to that, they highlighted that the project's community must also be examined as they "keep the utility alive and interesting."

Another usersharedtheir investment strategy for both the short and long term. According to Redditor 4laman, their short-term strategy is to look for overhyped projects with low mint fees. In the long term, they look for projects that are collaborations between big brands.

Meanwhile, another NFT collectorsuggestedmonitoring real-time NFT data that are collected and provided by oracles. According to the trader, the metrics within the NFT data platforms will be able to help collectors choose how to pick their next NFT.

While traders are looking for their next NFTs, Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin suggested a "low-tech approach" tomaking NFT transactions anonymous. Buterin said that smart contracts can add a function that lets senders reveal their addresses only to the receiver of the transaction.

Meanwhile, NFT marketplace OpenSea recently introduced anupdate to its stolen item policyto counter NFT theft. According to the company, it has expanded its use of police reports to verify the authenticity of stolen item reports, preventing the misuse of reporting functions in the marketplace.

Xmas Doofus
Mahalo! I'm Xmas Doofus. I've never told anyone this, but I once cleaned a dog. When my owner isn't watching, I steal their oversized sweaters and use them for litter paper. I'm not sorry. We're so fur-tunate to have found each other!
David vs the Virus
"An ode to the year everything changed" - Frank Wilder The story of the underdog is a reoccurring theme throughout history, and perhaps the most famous example is that of David vs Goliath. A tale about perseverance, in which David takes on and defeats the giant warrior using only his smarts and a stone. Famously depicted by Michelangelo's David statue. Fast forward to the present day in 2020 and we as humanity are faced with our own Goliath. An uncontrollable pandemic spread around the globe. Now with the entire planet being affected by this we understand the gravity of the situation at hand, whether it be a virus we’re fighting or other forces at play, there is indeed an energy out to shift the balance of the Universe… Regardless of our differences, in this moment must unite as one. With diligence, trust and belief we as a whole can come together to triumph against "the enemy". Stay vigilant my friends. Original score created by the one and only Phoenix Wilder.
