14/07/2021 Panthers Partner with Fanaply to Release Exclusive NFTS, Experiences

'FLADrops' give fans opportunity to purchase and bid beginning with 2021 Panthers Draft Party

 July 13, 2021

SUNRISE, Fla. - The Florida Panthers announced today an all-new partnership with leading digital collectibles developer Fanaply who will host, sell, trade and distribute the Panthers first official Non-Fungible Token (NFT) collections as well as offer auctions and access to exclusive experiences via 'FLADrops' marketplace.

"Through the partnership with Fanaply, we're offering Panthers fans, hockey fans and collection enthusiasts the chance to purchase and bid for digital collectables and incredible experiences," said Panthers Chief Strategy Officer Sam Doerr. "Adding a contesting and experiential element to our NFTs is just that next layer to set them apart and give our fans something special to enjoy in the all-new 'FLADrops' marketplace."

"At Fanaply, we believe that NFTs are the future of fan and consumer engagement, and we are thrilled to be working with the Panthers to provide their fans with such incredible experiential rewards," said Grant Dexter, co-founder and CEO of Fanaply. "It's also important we focus on creating environmentally friendly NFTs. Most NFT marketplaces trigger a carbon-intensive blockchain transaction for every individual NFT sale, meaning if a collection of 100 NFTs sells out, 100 blockchain transactions occur. In contrast, Fanaply's managed wallet system generates a single blockchain transaction when our NFTs are first minted, but then avoids subsequent blockchain transactions entirely, creating just 1% the carbon footprint of other platforms. We applaud the Panthers on their visionary NFT strategy and for delivering such true value to their fans."

To kick off the partnership, the Panthers will release two first-of-its-kind 2021 Panthers Draft Yacht Party NFT collectibles and experiences in their first ever NFT Drop, the 'Golden Yachty' and the 'Draft Yacht Party Lottery Ticket.' The 'Golden Yachty' is a unique 1 of 1 NFT available via auction. The winning bidder and one guest will be guaranteed VIP access to the Panthers Draft Yacht Party on Friday, July 23rd with an exclusive, personal experience. Bidding begins today and will conclude on Sunday, July 18 at 11:59 p.m. ET.

The 'Panthers Draft Yacht Party Lottery Ticket' is an Open Edition NFT available for $10 purchase. One winner will be randomly chosen after July 19th to attend the Panthers VIP Draft Yacht Party with one guest. Fans can purchase lottery tickets beginning now through Sunday, July 18 at 11:59 p.m.

Both the 'Golden Yachty' and 'Panthers Draft Yacht Party Lottery Ticket' winners will also receive food and beverages as well as a Panthers merchandise pack. All proceeds will benefit the Florida Panthers Foundation. Please click here to learn more or purchase the newly released NFTs.

An NFT (non-fungible token) is a unit of data stored on a digital ledger, called a blockchain, that certifies a digital asset to be unique and therefore not interchangeable.

CryptoPunk #1190
The CryptoPunks are 10,000 uniquely generated characters. No two are exactly alike, and each one of them can be officially owned by a single person on the Ethereum blockchain. Originally, they could be claimed for free by anybody with an Ethereum wallet, but all 10,000 were quickly claimed. Now they must be purchased from someone via the marketplace that's also embedded in the blockchain.
