Porsche will auction a car design sketch through the platform SuperRare. In this case, the non-fungible token (NFT) comes with the physical version of the drawing. The design was sketched by the company’s Director of Exterior Design, Peter Varga, and proceeds will go towards the non-profit Viva con Agua.

The sketch combines the Taycan Cross Turismo model with the 911.

Porsche Digital operates a company builder that recently launched Fanzone, which runs a platform for digital collectibles. The auction of the design will be supported by Fanzone, which also has a partnership with the German national football team for player NFTs.

Part of Porsche’s business model is to attract collectors. Some of the most notable car collections in the world such as Jerry Seinfeld’s include Porsches. And the luxury car brand is popular in car auctioning platforms such as Collecting Cars, which launched in 2019 and reached $100 million in revenues. The Porsche brand also has various clothing lines.

Collecting is part of Porsche’s tradition. Therefore a digital collectible line of products has the potential to be welcomed by the company’s current audience while also attracting a younger and tech enthusiastic market.

“With the NFT initiative, we are once again demonstrating the pioneering spirit typical of Porsche, with which we are always boldly entering new terrain,” said Alexander Pollich, CEO of Porsche Deutschland. “With NFT, we are addressing existing Porsche customers, who are often passionate collectors, as well as new, younger target groups with a high affinity for digital trends.”

This was Porsche’s first direct project with Fanzone. Since the company owns the startup, more initiatives will likely be launched in the coming months, especially if the design auction is successful.

Meanwhile, Coca-Cola launched an NFT collection through the virtual world Decentraland. SEGA plans to launch digital collectibles with its character, and luxury brand Dolce & Gabbana auctioned NFTs through marketplace UNXD.

Roomservice
This guy standing in front of a painting, thinking what possibly he could write about the piece, looks to me like a curator. As many terms used in our daily life, this one also comes from a Latin word: "cura" meaning "to take care". The curator takes care of our cultural heritage and if successful eventually of the heritage of his own name. He is great in interpreting what the artist meant and thought while creating a piece. Most of the time he even seems to know more than the artist himself and it always makes me laugh when I listen to these intellectual palavers. Kind of Roomservice to the works of art.
The Scion
A young figure caught in a moment of distraction, aware only ephemerally of his unconscious being, as it engages in psychological and psychedelic layer spaces. His right arm casually cradles a moray eel; the figure is comfortable but not truly aware of the potentials for danger in such negligence. His shirt reads “Bello” in Pokemon style font, harkening back to a childhood straddling the millennial threshold. To his right side, out of the unconscious deep, shrouded alien heads propagate as a fractal totem, each new iteration a more sophisticated rendering of emotional masking over the cold mystery of the greys. As the scion of the Budgie-Sattva, the young man, in his distraction, is also simultaneously aware of higher levels of self discovery. To his left a psychological topology sets beneath the oracle side of an 8 ball ,hovering; its message a purest concept of acceptance. The “Scion” lettering is in 80’s HeMan style bold declaration. The lower right side of the painting is like a hybrid of melon, feathers, and seeds. The crystals in the background bring light; conducted, refracted, reflected, and dispersed, to balance the dark shadow of the figure’s physical body. The aura of the scion succeeds in layers to point, with a finger, and the crown chakra, toward a center of a mandala existing as nigh pure application of strokes, in essence painterly abstraction, but also revealing hints of the Aura of migraine, and the bi-hemispherical nature of the brain–noting concerns of the possibility of inherited mental disease. Yet the flourish of chakra as it sets against that center is robust, active, coherent, and reveling against all fear. Fundamentally, the piece speaks to the activation of one’s potential to begin to “Know Thyself”, and find greater awareness out of the enigmas of the mind–as an inculcated seed given to the rich soil of one’s own birthright.
