LET’S GET PHYSICAL:If a virtual #PoseWithKarl selfie in augmented reality is so two-drops-ago, the latestKarl LagerfeldNFTs bring something new to the table – a real-life perk.

Created in collaboration with London-based street artist Endless, who signed a mural of the late designer at Pitti Uomo in 2019, the fourth edition of the digital figurines will launch at 4 p.m. CET this Friday on digital fashion marketplace The Dematerialized.

Two versions of theNFThave been made, both featuring the artist’s graffiti — in tones of blue or pink — scrawled all over the digital avatar’s outfit.

The more exclusive “KL7xEndless” version, sold at 777 euros and available to only seven consumers (the number seven was the late couturier’s lucky number), will turn into an invitation to a real-life cocktail event featuring a performance by the artist. Slated for June 2022, it will take place at the fashion brand’s headquarters in the tony 7th arrondissement.

Describing the hybrid experience as an exciting development in the brand’s journey into the digital world, Karl Lagerfeld chief executive officer Pier Paolo Righi stated that the brand “continued to break new ground and create incredible experiences for our consumers,” true to a designer who “was always fully immersed in the cultural relevance of the here-and-now.”

It was an attitude that “allowed him to transcend generations as an iconic creative force,” added the artist, who called Lagerfeld a “lifelong innovator” whose footsteps they hoped to follow to make themetaverse“a creative world.”

A more accessible version of the figurine, titled KLxEndless, will be priced at 100 euros in a run of 500. It will grant access to exclusive news bites and behind-the-scenes material as well as live highlights of the artist’s performance.

The Dematerialized’s co-CEO Karina Grant noted that this latest drop reflected an evolution that added unique access, experience and utility to a fashion NFT. “We can’t wait to see where the Karl x Endless collectibles end up around the globe and to see the lucky collectors who make it to Paris,” she said.

This was a quick and relaxed drawing but an important one. It was made in 2017 in Windows Paint, while listening to V.O.T.U. podcast, one of the many projects revolving around Steem blockchain. Things weren't looking too good at the time - the moods and prices were low. I made a few drawings of deepwater creatures then reflecting on that scene. The stylized shark here is flowing above it all,as in space independent of the circumstances. The graphic style in the background reminds of the market charts, but is also inspired by the landing scenes in an old game called Captain Blood that we had on AtariST in 80's. Thanks to this drawing i got a big commission to make illustrations for a webnovel "They Didn’t See It Beneath Them" by Verbal-d in exchange for Steem. I had still faith in the blockchain then and it paid off as things started to look upwards pretty soon. Ofcourse things are quite different now three years later in 2020. A lot of people, including myself, have moved on to Hive, a new platform that forked from Steem after some dramatic events. I'm still grateful for the early days on Steemit and this is a good memory for me and a little piece of history in the great currents of the cryptoworld. Additional notes: There may be some blurriness in the preview image and the effect gets emphasized because of the technique, but it does not extend to the actual file. That being said, to achieve a particular look I do work in small resolution which is native to the MS Paint. In order to meet the size requirements, which will allow for larger prints for example, the pixel dimensions have been scaled up for these limited editions. Who is Satoshi Nakamoto?
"Who is Satoshi Nakamoto?" is dedicated to the mysterious creation of Bitcoin, and acts as the showcase artwork within Javier ArrĂ©s’ exploratory series "Bitcoin, The Origin". "Who is the creator of Bitcoin?" The artist, ArrĂ©s, explores this question, and the feelings of doubt and mystery that accompany it, through his unique artistic language. An unknown, an enigma. It should be remembered that the name Satoshi Nakamoto is a pseudonym of Bitcoin's author or authors and gives us little insight into its true creator. For this Visual Toy, ArrĂ©s uses the signature claw machine, his famous half-operation, to symbolize our collective ignorance and unconfirmed belief: As soon as it has the stuffed animal within its grasp and appears to have solved the puzzle, the animal escapes again, and again. At present, there are three more public and studied possibilities who are either believed to be the creators of the currency or who directly claim the creation of it. It may be all or none of them, yet these three personalities leave us clues which are an important part of this interesting enigma. For this moment, it will remain unknown... In this artwork, ArrĂ©s elevates the claw machine from the apparatus, to an iconic pop art object serving as an important element to the Bitcoin creation narrative. Action is everywhere, with each movement serving an iconographical or metaphorical purpose related directly to cryptocurrency: Various ups and downs, roller coasters, mining points, robot, coins and more speak to a sense of hope, risk, mystery, randomness and possibility of pay out. Hundreds of manically thought out details make this creation one of the artist’s most complex Visual Toys to date. ------- "Bitcoin, The Origin" is a set of two Visual Toys, titled "Who is Satoshi Nakamoto" and "It’s Alive!" which reflect and explore the mystery and enigmas behind the creation of Bitcoin. ArrĂ©s presents these proposals to us in his signature style, full of iconography, fantasy, maniacal animations and a panoply of details (both subtle and overt) which simultaneously fascinate, hypnotize, and narrate this historical milestone through the singular vision of the artist. Through this series, ArrĂ©s freezes a crucial moment of cryptocurrency history, taking a still photo under his vision and turning it into two unique crypto artworks. ---- More info about Javier ArrĂ©s: https://javierarres.com/about.html
The River of Emeralds
Golden conditions at one of my favorite locations in the Rockies. The light, the colors, the textures; what more can you ask for? I just loved the way this river flowed into the sunset and the mountains in the background. It's rare you find a scene as perfect as this one. But when you do, you have to take advantage of it.
